Maintenance and Asset Management

An initial visit is made to the client's plant to assess the present Maintenance situation. During this visit we would meet with a representative sample of management, supervisory, and staff personnel. Our objective is to gain an understanding of the:

Maintenance organization structure and reporting
Relationships with other groups or departments
Planning and scheduling of Maintenance work
Preventive/predictive maintenance in place
Overhauls, turnarounds, outages
Productivity level
Materials and tools supply
Performance measurements, KPI's, and results
Contractor management and coordination
Use of management information systems.

At the conclusion of the visit we would be prepared to discuss next steps in moving forward in a Maintenance Improvement Program and our participation in the Program.

After the initial visit we will prepare a written proposal for work that may follow. The proposal will discuss our findings and observations from the visit, outline our approach to assisting the client, benefits and savings to be expected, timing, and costs.

Usually we find the next phase requires The Hayo Consultants to make a more detailed study and analysis of Maintenance activities, prepare detailed recommendations with supporting documentation, and present a plan of action and schedule to implement the recommendations.

On approval by the client of the plan of action and implementation schedule, the details of implementing the improvement changes are worked out jointly between client and consultant. In many cases implementation can be done with only minor guidance and assistance from The Hayo Consultants.

As implementation proceeds there is on-going follow up and audit to ensure continuous and lasting improvement.
