Plant or Facility Operations

An initial visit is made to the client's plant or facility to assess opportunities for improvements in Plant or Facility Operations. Interviews are conducted with key management and staff members, observations are made of activities and processes, performance data is collected and verified, and areas of concern are discussed. This allows us to gain an understanding of the:

Organization structure, relationships, and reporting
Planning and scheduling policies and practices
Flow of materials from receipt to inventory, thru work-in-process, to finished goods, and shipment
Inventory objectives and levels
Physical layout and equipment used in processing products
Work center controls and productivity
Efficiency and downtime levels
Use of information systems to control operations processes

Findings are then developed for presentation to management at the end of the initial visit.

After the initial visit we prepare a brief written report of our findings and a proposal for the next phase of work. This next phase usually requires The Hayo Consultants to make an in-depth and detailed study of the subject area(s). After the study is completed we present our recommendations with supporting data in a project report and submit it for approval to client management.

On approval, implementation of recommendations begins. Our involvement in the implementation phase can be determined and scheduled. Periodic follow-up and audit is usually done by The Hayo Consultants.
